Mining Services

GeoBlast developed field mining services that cater to specific operations in which we have become specialized over the years. Through these services we offer to our customers a safe work enviroment and the expertise required to handle such operations.

Rock mass preconditioning

The harvesting method, Rock Mass Preconditioning, has been investigated for use in the exploitation of deep sectors of underground mines and is conducted through two types of technologies.

Hydraulic Fracturing

This technique is performed by water pressure injections through probing shots in a spatial distribution, This creates new fractures in the rock mass that have regularities which were not originally in the rock. This is a technology commonly used in oil exploration and has been adapted to for use in underground mines Its purpose is to pre-crack the rock mass before the sinking and extraction processes.

Dynamic Weakening with Explosives

This method utilizes explosives, with similar objectives. The idea is to generate (using electronic detonators) a combination of explosion sequences to generate fracturing that will improve the fineness of the material in an effort to streamline and reduce the costs of the extraction process. It is also useful in preventing Hang. Hang occurs when the blast diameter still has rocks that cannot be lowered. Hang often results in delaying the extraction process.

Trajectory and the deviation of wells

GeoBlast has a number of methods to determine the trajectory and the deviation of wells (gyroscopic, magnetic, multiple shots). In addition, the information obtained is analyzed by modern software packages that are helpful in the presentation of data and can be displayed in table formatting and graphics. The reconnaissance equipment and devices are water resistant and have been designed to cope with extreme weather conditions, drops, and vibrations.

Sometimes profile data recorded while entering and exiting the pit are used to verify its accuracy and ability to be replicated.

We provide our customers with CALIPER instruments which consist of four armed probes. The four-arm caliper allows continuous measurements of diameter. The probes can measure deformation of the hole in two orthogonal directions. The probe includes two pairs of arms connected independently and can be opened or closed from the surface. The probe can operate in any direction.

Measurements: X Caliber, Y Caliber And Azimuth can be used to measure the perforation. deviation drilling, drilling Volume, Displacement of the drilling's true vertical depth (TVD), and natural gamma ray can also be measured.

Applications: Borehole diameter in two axes, Division of drilling for stress analysis, vertical drilling, calculation of drilling volume, cracks, fissures and defects in the jacket lining, distinction between hard and soft formations, and Correction of other records that can effect shaft size.
